Here's a simple checklist to help your new family member settle in without turning your living room into a chew toy graveyard.
Before they arrive
- Puppy-proof one room first. Block off stairs, tuck away cables, and move anything you don't want teeth marks on. Start small — you can expand their territory as they learn the rules.
- Set up a cozy den. A crate or gated area with a soft bed gives them a safe retreat. Cover it lightly for that den-like feel — most pups love it.
